The Bruce Trail was opened in 1967 and is Canada's oldest and longest hiking trail. The 800 km long trail follows the Niagara Escarpment from Niagara to the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. The Caledon Hills section of the Bruce Trail starts close to the Badlands near Cheltenham, ascends slowly to the top of the escarpment before descending steeply down the Devil’s Pulpit to the Forks of the Credit.

The trail then turns first south and then east to follow the edge of the escarpment. At Airport Road it turns north to pass through the Glen Haffy Conservation Area. The final section takes the hiker into the beautiful Hockley Valley and along quiet country roads to the picturesque village of Mono Centre.
